About Us
Serving Alexandria & the DMV since 2006
Chefs Christophe & Michelle Poteaux's award winning restaurant & bar, located in Old Town Alexandria, has continuously offered guests fresh takes on classic French cuisine, all within our quaint neighborhood brasserie.
Our creations are rooted in the use of seasonal, locally sourced and farm fresh ingredients. Our passion for French food, wine & culture is what we celebrate daily with all of Alexandria & the DMV.

Enjoy our casual atmosphere where locals and travelers love to relax with

Please no phone calls, music, videos, or anything with audio in the dining rooms.
It is disruptive to other guests and can ruin a beautiful evening for all.
Please do not move the furniture. We have arranged our tables for the best flow of the restaurant.
If you would like to change tables, let your server or other staff member know and they will work with the host and manager to try our best to accommodate your request. Note that we may not be able to fill every guest request for seating arrangements or other requests due to business volume, availability etc.

Since opening Bastille in 2006 on the outskirts of Old Town Alexandria VA, the restaurant has garnered eight RAMMY nominations, Washingtonian Top 100 listings and Northern Virginia Magazine's Top 50 restaurants.
Chef Christophe's cooking is rooted in his French heritage and features reimagined classic French dishes, utilizing local Mid-Atlantic products.
Chef Michelle’s desserts are straightforwardly good, cloaked in nothing but vibrant French flavors and techniques, sprinkled with influences from her time growing up in the Midwest, living in California and now the East Coast. In 2013, Chefs Michelle & Christophe Poteaux took Bastille’s creative cuisine to the James Beard House to celebrate Bastille Day.
In January 2015, Chefs Poteaux moved and reopened their flagship restaurant to 606 N. Fayette Street, located in the Asher apartment building. This contemporary space is only two blocks from the Braddock Metro,
5 Blocks from King Street and one block from Route 1 South. We are located in Alexandria’s quaint Parker Grey neighborhood. Featuring a large courtyard patio, increased dining capacity and an expansive bar and café area; Bastille is Old Town Alexandria's go to neighborhood Parisian brasserie.
